AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 - Trimble Link

For all those that use Trimble Data Collectors you can now download a free add on for Civil 3D 2013, TrimbleLink which will allow you to directly convert your files into a *fbk for survey database importing right from the Civil 3D Ribbon.
Here is the install link: Using Trimble Link, you don’t actually have to leave the collector attached to the PC. With this it allows you to dump the files from the collector and then process the *job file.

Revit File Upgrader

Autodesk Exchange has a cool new app for Revit.  "File Upgrader" will batch upgrade previous versions of Revit files to the Revit 2013 format. The tool is intended to help upgrade family contents, template files as well as project files.

No more Google Earth for Civil 3D 2013!!!???

We all look for the WHAT's NEW in Civil 3D this time of year but unfortunately this year they have a big WHAT's MISSING in the 2013 release of Civil 3D.  

It looks like as of now there will be no interoperability between AutoCAD Civil 3D and Google Earth.
For some this may not be such a big deal, but for many users out there this is an extremely useful too for conceptual purposes, presentations and/or sharing of information.  I hope they get this fixed.  This is an explanation I received regarding this situation:

Due to limitations on the use of the Google Earth API, AutoCAD® Civil 3D® 2013 does not include API access to allow customers to import Google Earth imagery and/or surfaces directly into Civil 3D.
