With the full line of Autodesk products having been
released, if you are on subscription you can now download and install the 2014
versions of your products! Starting with the 2014 release Autodesk is going
green and fulfilling all products through download only. What this means for
you is Autodesk will no longer be providing physical media for new and upgraded
software packages. However if you still require physical media Autodesk will
provide a copy for $30 plus $10 shipping and handling , for each software
package requested on physical media.
If you have never downloaded your software from the
subscription center, or need a refresher, here is how to guide on downloading
your software!
Software is downloaded from the Autodesk Subscription
Center, http://subscription.autodesk.com
I recommend using Google Chrome.
You will need to login with your Autodesk User ID and
password. If you do not have an Autodesk login, click on ‘Create and Account’.
If you have an account but do not remember your User ID or password, you can
regain access to your account by clicking ‘Forgot User ID’ or ‘Forgot
Password’. This will email you instructions on getting your user id and resetting
your password.
Once you have logged into the subscription center click Get
Your Upgrade
You will now see all products, and versions you have access
to. Click on the Product version, select the language and OS Type you would
like to download. You will see a drop down menu with several options, Install
Now, Download Now, and Browser Download. I recommend using ‘Download now’ , and
if you have troubles with that, then try ‘browser download. The install now
function downloads a small piece of the software, then goes through the regular
installation setup process, after selecting components and clicking install, it
will only download and install the pieces you have selected. This method seems
to have the most issues, and does not give you the ability to copy the
installation files to install on another machine. Download now uses a download
manager utility to download the software installation files to the directory
C:\Autodesk, and download now uses the web browsers built in downloading
utility to download a compressed installation package that will need to be
unzipped prior to installation.
Note: For Windows systems, 32-bit or 64-bit refers to
the version of your operating system, which you can check by going to Control
Panel > System . You must choose the correct version in order to
use the software.
When using the Download Now method, you'll need to first download
the Autodesk Download
Manager before you begin
downloading your software.
Click Run, then read and Agree to the Download Manager License Agreement. When finished click Install.
Click Run, then read and Agree to the Download Manager License Agreement. When finished click Install.
5.
Once the Download
Manager has been installed, it will begin downloading your software.
Click OK to save the download in the default location
(recommended).
