The great thing about Autodesk software is that it's always improving! Civil 3D 2020 has some new updates identified as Civil 3D 2020.1. Here are some tips to remember when installing the updated version:
- Back up your files: Be sure to back up all custom CUIX, MNR and MNL files before updating.
- Close the application first: You must close Civil 3D 2020 before installing the update.
- Have administrative privileges: In order to update, you must have administrative privileges to install/uninstall products.
- Use Deployment Wizard: If you need to employ the update over a network, use the Deployment Wizard.
- Reboot after install: We recommend you reboot your system after installing the update, even if not prompted.
- About dialog box: Product information can be found in the About dialog box after installing the update.

Installation Instructions
Apply This Update to a Stand-Alone Installation
Follow these instructions to install this update on a single computer.
- Download the update and save it to any folder.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- Find the folder where you saved the update and double-click the executable (.exe) file.
Apply This Update Through a Local Network
Follow these instructions to install this update on multiple computers using your local network.
- Download this update and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- Find the shared folder where you saved the update and double-click the executable (.exe) file.
Apply This Update to a Network Administrative Image
The following method of distributing this update applies only to administrative images created with the Autodesk® Civil 3D® 2020 Network Installation wizard. After you complete this procedure, any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 will have the update applied to them automatically. For information on creating and updating a Network Administrative Image, please see the Autodesk Installation Administrator's Guide.
To apply this update to an existing Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 administrative image:
- Download this update and save it to any shared folder on your local network.
- Close all running Autodesk applications.
- On the workstation where you initially created the Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 deployment, open the Tools folder and double-click the Create & Modify a deployment shortcut icon.
- Follow the wizard to the product configuration screen and expand the Include additional software accordion.
- In the Additional Software section, click Add and browse to the location where you saved the update.
- Collapse the Include additional software accordion and click the Create button.
Now any new deployments of Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 will have the update applied to them automatically.
Uninstall This Update
This update can be uninstalled through the Program and Features section of the Microsoft® Windows® Control Panel.
Follow these instructions to uninstall this update on a single computer.
- In Windows Control Panel > Uninstall a Program, select View Installed Updates.
- Under the Autodesk Civil 3D 2020 heading, right-click Civil 3D 2020.1 Update and choose Uninstall.
