AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014 Pressure Pipe Changes

Plenty of changes for Pressure Pipes in Civil 3D 2014

Civil 3D 2014 has many improved features for Pressure Pipe Networks. One of the most important improvements is the ability to create pressure pipe network data shortcuts. Meaning you can now share pressure pipe network data in the same style as other data shortcuts.

However, since 2014 Civil 3D is "Backwards Compatible" you will not be able to use the data shortcuts in Civil 3D 2013 files. Files created and saved in 2014 with pressure network references will open in 2013, but the network will not have the full functionality in 2013.

Other Pressure Pipe improvements are:

  • Edit multiple pressure network parts in plan view by sliding or moving them
  • Edit multiple pressure network parts in profile view by changing the slope or elevation
  • Use the 3D Plane compass setting to rotate the compass plane when laying out and editing pressure networks in model view
NoteExisting parts lists created in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2013 are not sorted automatically when the drawing is opened in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2014. You can edit the parts list and sort it using the context menu command available in the Pressure Network Parts List dialog box.

    1. Hey Shawn. Any updated from Autodesk on the Pressure Network Data Shortcut issue? When you do a DS of the network C3D totally ignores the profile of the source file
