The Line by Turned Angle command that was ever so popular in Land Desktop actually DOES exist in Civil 3D. I am sure most are aware of that, but for those who are not, HERE YOU GO!!
The line by turned angle command can be done by utilizing the ANGLE DISTANCE (‘AD) transparent command. I have included quick steps below.
Steps:
- Select the LINE or POLYLINE command
- Select you beginning point of the line
- Choose the ANGLE DISTANCE command from the transparent command toolbar or type in ‘AD
- Choose the BEGINNING point of the previous line. NOT the point at where you want your new line to begin. This will then create a reference angle to turn from. This seems to be where people get hung up.
- Key in Angle
- Key in Distance
