Export Bing Map (Basejump) to AutoCAD

Had the question come up today about how to EXPORT the Bing map connection (Basejump) to a drawing that can be accessed by others that do not have Map 3D and/or Civil 3D.

Quick steps below:

  1. Connect to your Bing maps in the task pane.
  2. Zoom into your area of interest.
  3. Right click on the connecting in the Task Pane and choose "Resample Raster"
  4. Save your drawing (if needed)
  5. IF in the "Planning and Analysis" workspace.  Choose the OUTPUT tab on the ribbon and choose "Save Current Map to AutoCAD"
    • Key in command = MAPEXPORTCURRENTMAPTODWG
  6. This will export to a new ACAD file and create a PNG image as an XREF.
