NAVISWORKS 2012 FILE LOAD ERROR
ERROR:
"Can't load _.NWC because of an internal error"
When a 2011 NWF is linked to a 2011 NWC file and the NWC file is overwritten with a 2012 version. The Navisworks NWF file is expecting to link to a 2011 file but encounters a different, newer version than expect.
WORKAROUND:
1. Create a new NWF file from scratch from the newer files
2. Publish the working NWF file into an NWD file for reference and import it into or build a new NWF
3. Append or Merge the newer NWC models into the project and delete or hide the older models
4. Manually rename the offending files and Append or Merge the newer files into the NWF
To do this, it requires a working, non-erroring NWF file, before the user overwrites with the newer NWC file.
